FAQ
Q: Who can join your workshops?
A: My workshops are currently designed for adults and supervised children.
Class sizes are small — 1 person for tufting and a maximum of 6 for other crafts — so you get plenty of personal attention. In the studio, the total capacity is 6 people, and we can welcome more varied sessions thanks to a flexible booking system that allows different crafts to run side by side (with tufting always kept one-on-one unless requested).
Q: How does your flexible booking system work?
A: At The Messy Table, you’re in control of your schedule. Here’s how it works:
-
Pick your workshop – choose from tufting, punch needle, stone, bead, shell or coaster painting, texture art, epoxy resin or other creative projects.
-
Choose your time slot.
-
No loud class clashes – tufting (which can be noisy) is always booked as a one-on-one session unless you specifically request otherwise. Other crafts can run side by side.
-
Your supplies, ready to go – when you arrive, everything you need will be laid out and ready for you, so you can start creating straight away.
-
Shared creative space – the studio can hold up to 6 people at a time, with everyone working on their own booked project. You might be crafting next to someone painting, sculpting, or tufting — but never with unwanted noise overlap.
-
Book & create your way – whether you want a structured class, a private session, or unstructured studio time to work on your own project, you can book exactly what suits you.
Q: When will booking open?
Bookings will open in mid-September — keep an eye on my Instagram and Facebook for the exact date!
Q: What ages can join?
Most workshops are designed for adults and children aged 8+. Certain crafts, like bead, shell, coaster, and stone painting, are suitable for children as young as 6. Tufting and epoxy resin require more care and are recommended for ages 12+ or younger with close adult supervision. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
Q: Can I make more pieces than what’s included?
Yes! Each workshop includes enough materials for one complete project (see class description). If you’d like to make more, you can purchase extra materials in the studio — just ask when you arrive.
Q: How should I prepare for a tufting class?
A: After you book your tufting session, I’ll send you a link where you can upload your chosen design. You’ll also receive tips on how to pick or adjust your design, and you'll have the option to choose from a selection of my original designs. I’ll transfer your design onto the tufting cloth before your session, so you can dive straight into using the tufting gun. This helps you make the most of your 2-hour class, which is perfect for creating a 25x25 cm rug.
Q: What if I can't finish my tufting design in 2 hours?
A: No problem! You can book a follow-up mini session to complete your rug, or I can finish it for you for a small additional fee. If your design is too detailed for a single session, I’m happy to help simplify it beforehand so you can leave with a finished piece you love.
Q: What do I need to bring to class?
A: Nothing at all — just yourself and your creativity! All materials and tools are provided.
Q: How do I book a class?
A: You can book through the booking platform linked on my website, or contact me directly for private lessons and special requests.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made after that may incur a fee.
Q: Is your studio dog-friendly?
A: Yes! My gentle 12-year-old golden retriever, Pamuk, is often in the studio and loves having quiet company. If you have allergies or concerns, just let me know before booking.
Q: Are your workshops suitable for beginners?
A: Absolutely! All experience levels are welcome, and I tailor each session to your pace and comfort level.
Q: Do you offer workshops for children?
A: Yes! Kids’ classes are coming soon. For now, I offer private lessons for children with adult supervision.
Q: Will you be bringing a dog? 🐶
My Senior Golden Retriever will often be at the studio—she’s calm and friendly. Other well-behaved dogs are welcome too!
